A celebration of leadership talent, success and achievement

Jaguar Land Rover are passionate about our people and encourage equality and diversity across the automotive industry and are proud to sponsor the Institute of Director’s Inclusivity Category at the 2018 Director of the Year Awards.

We strongly believe that inclusivity is integral to the way we do business. As part of that commitment, we have recently appointed Jennie Moore as our Inclusion and Representation Manager to embed processes which endorse diversity and equality across our business.

Jaguar Land Rover are developing a suite of learning resources which seek to raise awareness of diversity issues and biases which may exist in the automotive industry.

Working with our people, Jaguar Land Rover have created a number of initiatives and employee-led networks and that seek to support and engage with our people from a wide spectrum of backgrounds and interests. Highlighted below are some examples.

Our ‘Furthering Futures’ programme tackles the attitude that engineering is a male-dominated industry by inspiring young people to explore the next generation of exciting career opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). As part of the programme, we held a career insight event this July, which was designed for talented female STEM A-level and undergraduate students who are interested in careers at Jaguar Land Rover.

Our Gender Equality Network was launched this June to champion and celebrate a diverse, inclusive and gender-balanced culture within our business. Over 200 people attended the event, which included insightful and interactive sessions from experts, such as internal speaker Chief Information Officer, Simon Bolton and external speakers Professor Binna Kandola OBE and Dr Jo Kandola who are passionate advocates of inclusivity.  The agenda included presentations on ‘The Truth about Women and Cars’, ‘Driving Women to Succeed in STEM Careers’, ‘Influencing from the Inside Out’.

Jaguar Land Rover are also working with Business in the Community (BITC), a not-for-profit organisation to develop a mentoring programme around STEM subjects for Black and Minority Ethnic students.

The Jaguar Land Rover PRIDE LGBT+ network was established this March, supported by our colleagues and senior executive sponsors. The network also attended Birmingham Pride 2018 to celebrate diversity in the automotive industry.

These initiatives are just the beginning of our journey to make people’s lives better, enhance careers and are vital in shaping the future of our company.
